Beloved, When You Speak Life, You Breathe Life!

Beloved, do you realize that when you speak, your breath is on every word? Have you ever talked outside on a cold winter’s day? What is it that you see when you speak? You see your breath. When you speak, the evidence of what was inside you comes into view. There is life in your breath, beloved, and it comes from our Heavenly Father. When He said, “let there be light” He spoke life into the darkness. He turned what was unformed and, with one breath, He transformed it into a planet filled with life.

God breathes life into everything He creates because He is Life itself. Not only does the Word God breathes into is life, it has the power to command the forces of nature to bow down to Him.

38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”

39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. - Mark 4:38-39 - NKJV

God breathed life into Adam. When God sings over us, He breathes life over us and into us. God is the very air that we breathe, beloved. Have you ever wondered what happens when there is no breath in a human body? There is no life, and there is no warmth. Where there is breath, there is warmth. This is why when it is cold, we tend to blow our breath on our hands to keep them warm.

When you breathe life into someone, you resuscitate him/her. We cannot survive if we are not able to breathe. It is impossible for us to live without the breath of life flowing in our lungs. When you breathe into someone or into something, you are bringing something that was dead back to life!

4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 6 I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ” - Ezekiel 37:4-6 - NKJV

Beloved, I have given you the authority to speak life as a new creation in Christ. You possess the power of breathing life into those dry places and into those things that you thought were dead. Do you realize that when you pray My Word out loud with your lips, you are activating My Word? When you pray My Word, angels are sent on assignment. This is why My Word shall never return void and it shall do what it was sent to do the second it is spoken out into the atmosphere.

Beloved, when you abide in My Presence - in My atmosphere, you are breathing in My breath over you. When you speak My Word over yourself, you are breathing life into yourself and into the atmosphere around you. When My Word is spoken, everything around it changes. Healing happens. Deliverance happens.

Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” - John 11:43 - NKJV

40 Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.”

41 Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” 42 As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed. - Mark 1:40-42 - NKJV

5 While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”

36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” 37 And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. 38 Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. 39 When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.” 40 And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. 41 Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” 42 Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement. - Mark 5:5, 36-41 - NKJV

10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic, 11 “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!” - Mark 2:10-12 - NKJV

25 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” 26 And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. - Mark 1:25-26 -NKJV

Beloved, when I said, “it is finished” as I breathed out My last breath on the Cross, everything changed. The veil was torn in two, not just in the Jerusalem Temple, but in the fabric of time. When I said, “it is finished,” life conquered death in that instant because what was dead was resurrected.

37 And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last. 38 Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. 39 So when the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!” - Mark 15:37-39 - NKJV

50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. 51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. - Matthew 27:50-53 - NKJV

Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him. 33 And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. 34 Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.”

35 Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly. - Mark 7:32-35 - NKJV

God is always speaking and it is His Words, His very Breath that sustains life in the universe!

When you sing in worship, did you know that what gives power to your singing it is not your vocal cords — but it is your breath that is the power source. The cords cannot produce sound by themselves — they need air flow moving past them sound to be released. The breath, combined with the musculature support system of the abdominals, the back, the diaphragm and the intercostal muscles (between the ribs) is what gives our sound its power. Have you ever wondered why the enemy is trying to use this pandemic to attack the respiratory system? This is by design because he knows that if he is able to attack your respiratory system, he can remove the source of power for your voice! The enemy knows every time we speak as new creations in Christ, we breathe life into the words we speak, with the power and the authority to cancel his assignments against us. Remember, the enemy comes in to steal, kill and destroy. Do not allow him to steal your voice, kill your dreams and abort your Kingdom assignment! He tries to make us wear a mask to reduce our breathing — to reduce the flow and the quality of the life-giving oxygen going into our lungs, and to ultimately silence our speech and our worship, trying to diminish its sound and reach, stripping it away, making it ineffective of its power. Make no mistake beloved, the enemy knows that when we lose our voice, we lose our freedom to speak and to effect change in the spiritual atmosphere around us.

Beloved, we are not called to be silent, we are called to roar! The enemy does not want us to speak because, just like the roar of the lion is heard and felt for miles, there is no distance in the spirit when you speak the Word of God.

The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.- Matthew 8:8, 13 - NKJV

When you keep My Word, you keep Me, so you keep Life! I Am the Giver of life!

Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’ John 8:52 - NKJV

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. - John 6:63 - NKJV

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” - Matthew 20:28 - NKJV

For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. - John 5:21 - NKJV

as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. - John 17:2 - NKJV
