Beloved, the Pen is Mightier than the Sword!

The saying, “the pen is mightier than the sword” can be defined as where “ideas are perceived as more important than brute force; popular opinion is more effective than violence.” The pen in this case refers to writing as a way to disseminate ideas, philosophy, and calls to action. Writing or publishing ideas can have a longer-lasting effect on a society than short-term violence. As we consider the fact that we are living in an age of information/disinformation, it is easy to see how words can have a deep impact on society at a more rapid level. With the advent of the internet and communications technology, the flow of information is nothing short of astounding. A person can find what they are looking for with just a click of the mouse or on a smartphone (a mini computer).

In all of human history we have never seen such instant access to information. I remember before the personal computer it would take a trip to the local library to do research on a subject for school. To gather the information needed for a research paper would require hours and days pouring through books and reference material with a lot of effort and hard work. While the research process has continued, unfortunately, the easy access to information electronically has led to many becoming lazy and comfortable with accepting new information at face value without doing the due diligence to find it and, even more importantly, to discern if the information presented on their screen is indeed accurate and true. The challenge comes with knowing where to look for the most accurate source of information.

Just look at how easy the “news” is being spread by the main stream media in our modern-day society. Those who are behind the ideas that they have been disseminating for decades know very well that if they repeat those ideas enough times, most people will eventually automatically accept them as fact and then it becomes truth to them. One of the biggest MOs of satan, if not the biggest is, to indoctrinate humans to accept the mindset of his world system. He has continued to do this in every generation, drilling his lies - his narrative - into the minds and hearts of humans from the moment they are born into this world.

The enemy of our soul, satan, understands very well the transformative impact that ideas can have on people through birthing them out as words. When those ideas are scribed, they tend to carry more weight because, as aforementioned, the written word lives beyond the author — it becomes a legacy the author leaves behind for whosoever chooses to receive those ideas and receive their impartation. Just think about how much the written Word of God, the Bible, has stood the test of time. No matter how much the enemy has attacked it or tried to alter it, the Word of God has endured because it is eternal and true — because it comes from the very heart of God, the Creator and King of the universe. The Word of God is the Law of the universe. It is God’s love story and it serves as His blueprint on how we are to live the life that we were all created and destined to live in Christ. The written, living Word of God is our moral compass to help guide us into His Truth when facing the issues of life on earth. It is important for us to realize that we are each called to be the mouthpiece of God for the purpose of advancing and expanding His Kingdom. We can receive the revelation on the creative power of our words because, in Christ, we are made in the image of God. We can choose to reflect the very nature and character of God on earth. It would behoove us to take into account that all ideas adopted as truth are pulled down from the battlefield of our minds.

The Word of God says that everything that we say and do flows out of the condition (the motive) of our hearts. If the law of the love of God is written upon our hearts when we are transformed into new creations in Christ, then it becomes possible for us to impart His Word to others.

It is important to remember that actions always follow established ideas that have been planted into the human mind. However, in Christ, we have the power to choose to discern which ideas come from God (through the Holy Spirit), which ideas come from our flesh (carnal man) and which ideas come from the enemy. This is what is known as “testing the spirits” or “taking every thought captive.” Just as it is important to guard your heart by what you hear, you need to guard it by what you see or read because it is through the gates to your soul that the mind is able to receive and take ownership of what it perceives which ends up becoming your reality.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. - 1 John 4:1 - NKJV

casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, - 2 Corinthians 10:5 - NKJV

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. - Luke 6:45 - NKJV

This is why it is so important to learn the teachings from the Word of God because actions will follow the ideas and the precepts that you receive into your mindset (your earthly paradigm).

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. - Psalm 32:8 - NKJV

I have declared my ways, and You answered me; Teach me Your statutes. - Psalm 119:26 - NKJV

It is important to see how Jesus, our Perfect Example, used the written Word of God during His time in the wilderness as He was tempted by satan. Jesus understood the supernatural power of the written Word when it is brought to life as He spoke it into the atmosphere. Jesus understood how to war in the spirit with the written Word of God to defeat the devil.

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” - Matthew 4:4 - NKJV

Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ” - Matthew 4:7 - NKJV

Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” - Matthew 4:10 - NKJV

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. - John 6:63 - NKJV

Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. - Ezekiel 37:4-5 - NKJV

Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’ ” So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army. - Ezekiel 37:9-10 - NKJV

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12 - NKJV

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; - Ephesians 6:17 - NKJV

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, - 2 Corinthians 10:4 - NKJV

Jesus understood the eternal significance and the creative power of the Word of God, being Himself the Word of God in the flesh. When He spoke the Word of God, He breathed life into it. Whenever we speak words, we breathe life into them. Just hold your hand in front of your mouth and speak and you will feel your breath on your hand.

When you speak, you breathe into the atmosphere. As a new creation in Christ, you uniquely breathe God’s breath into everything around you. Until you speak, those words remain on the inside of you, un-birthed.

Jesus understood that His Father’s written words shall be fulfilled because God’s Word never fails. God is always faithful to perform His spoken and written Word.

[ The Scriptures Opened ] Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” - Luke 24:44 - NKJV

But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’ - John 15:25 - NKJV

Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. - Revelation 1:3 - NKJV

For I am the Lord. I speak, and the word which I speak will come to pass; it will no more be postponed; for in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word and perform it,” says the Lord God.’ ” - Ezekiel 12:25 - NKJV

It is very important to understand that the written Word of God is a spiritual contract — a written covenant between God and His people which cannot be broken. A contract is an agreement between two or more parties, especially one that is written and enforceable by law. A covenant in the Biblical sense is a binding agreement between God and man. It is irrevocable - it is impossible to retract or revoke — it is unchangeable, irreversible and unalterable. (Source: https://www.merriam-webster.com)

Every covenant God made with man, from the Adamic Covenant (new beginning after the Fall), the Abrahamic Covenant (Consecrated First fruits of the righteous line of the Messiah), the Noahic Covenant (cleansing through the Flood), the Levitic Covenant (the priestly covenant), the Mosaic Covenant (repentance under the Law), the Davidic Covenant (judgment by Righteous King), all the way to the new Messianic covenant (The Presence of God in Christ and the Holy Spirit) — created through Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice — which made a way to reconcile us back to God the Father once and for all time — are all unbreakable and they will never change. Jesus came down to earth not to replace God’s covenants but to fulfill them all:

[ The Scriptures Opened ] Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” - Luke 24:44 - NKJV

Jesus, through His work on the Cross paved the way for all things to be restored on earth to their original state before the Fall of man. It has always been God’s desire that our hearts be filled with His Word. God cares about the condition of our hearts.

My son, keep my words, And treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live, And my law as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart. - Proverbs 7:1-3 - NKJV

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. - Hebrews 8:10 - NKJV

As sons and daughters of the Most High God, in Christ, we are able to hear the still, small voice of God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We are called to be God’s mouthpieces and prophetic voices, sharing the heart of God with whosoever will listen and receive it in Jesus’ name. God desires for His sons and daughters to prophesy in the power of His love:

[ Prophecy and Tongues ] Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. - 1 Corinthians 14:1 - NKJV

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. - 1 Corinthians 13:2 - NKJV

The spirit of religion has deceived many in the body of Christ to believe that the gift of prophesy ended with the disciples. When one receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit, it is the key to be able to enter into the secret place, beyond the veil, and into the Throne room of God where relationship with Him is possible. Once you position yourself to enter into the secret place with a surrendered heart and soul, this is when you invite Him to speak to your heart, listening for His still small voice, expecting Him that He will speak to you. At that moment, your life will be forever changed, because, for the first time in your life, you are no longer just learning “about” God — your conversation will no longer be one-sided — now you have truly entered into a real relationship and fellowship with God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit — living as a son/daughter of God’s eternal family that you were chosen and created for since before the foundation of the world.

As a prophetic scribe, you are called to manifest the words from God’s heart that are already written in the books of Heaven, never forget that. Since God is the same yesterday, today, and forever — that also means that the five fold ministry gifts He has made available to us have not stopped.

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. - 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 - NKJV

And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” - John 17:26 - NKJV

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. - John 17:3 - NKJV
