Beloved, Peace is your Portion!

Beloved, as a new creation in Christ, part of your inheritance is the Peace of God. Remember, you are a co-heir with the Prince of Peace, Jesus! Peace is one of the many things that He paid the price for on the Cross for you to inherit as a son or daughter of God.

Jesus is our Kinsman-Redeemer and He redeemed us from the law of sin and death. He sacrificed Himself so that we could have full access to everything that the Kingdom of Heaven has to offer — everything that is good comes from God and He loves to give His sons and daughters everything that pertains to life and godliness, and that includes His Peace.

Peace is one of the currencies of Heaven. Beloved, with Jesus’ sacrifice, a divine exchange took place. We went from having inherited everything from the kingdom of darkness through sin to receiving the wealth of the Kingdom of Heaven through Christ.

And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. - 1 Corinthians 15:45 - NKJV

We went from the old man with a sinful nature to become a new creation in Christ — back to God’s original design to before the Fall.

Beloved, rejoice in the Truth that you can begin to enjoy the riches of your inheritance in Christ while you are on earth. You do not have to wait until you get to Heaven to enjoy the blessings of God.

The kingdom of darkness is everything opposite of what the Kingdom of God represents. The kingdom of the enemy is about fear and torment leading to death and destruction.

Jesus said to the disciples:

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. - John 14:27 - NKJV

When Jesus gives us His peace, He is giving Himself to us all over again. Everything He has given to us is out of His love, because He is love. This is why there is no fear with love. Love and fear cannot co-exist. Wherever love is present, fear has to leave and peace always follows.

The carnal mind can speak fear all day long but if we do not take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and choose to love, we will not be able to encounter the Peace of God.

Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. - 2 Corinthians 13:11 - NKJV

Beloved, understand that when the Peace of God is in your heart, it will guard your heart and your mind. This is the state that results from abiding in Christ.

and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:7 - NKJV

You cannot achieve peace through positive thinking from your carnal man. Peace is a gift of God. Peace cannot be attained apart from Jesus because He is Peace. Remember, beloved, that you cannot give away what you do not possess.

When we meditate, receive and believe the Word of God, Jesus himself, we will have His Peace.

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33 - NKJV

Jesus was the ultimate “peace” offering to our Heavenly Father, in order for us to be reconciled to Him. Only a “spotless” peace offering to God would meet the requirement of reconciliation.

It is important to note that for the forgiveness of God to be received, a peace offering was necessary. This makes me think of what Jesus said concerning peace.

Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. - Matthew 5:9 - NKJV

Here it is easy to see that when we walk in peace we are demonstrating that we are sons and daughters of God as our true identity, just like Jesus is the Son of God. When we receive the revelation and believe that peace is available to us and that it is our portion in Christ, all we need to do is to receive it through His love so we can walk in it. When we are at peace with God, through His forgiveness as a result of releasing forgiveness to others, then we can also be at peace with men and the love of God can easily flow and operate in and through us.

And he shall burn all its fat on the altar, like the fat of the sacrifice of the peace offering. So the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him. - Leviticus 4:26 - NKJV

knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. - 1 Peter 1: 18-19 - NKJV

We can also see that peace is tied to healing. When forgiveness is present, it leads to peace which then leads to healing.

And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” - Mark 5:34 - NKJV

When you forgive someone who has wronged you, have you ever felt like a weight has been lifted? I have personally felt peace after I have forgiven someone and I have even felt better in my mind and in my body — because the burden of bitterness has left because the power of the love of God has replaced it.

Beloved, you do not have to carry any fear and anxiety. Surrender it all to Jesus and He will give you His peace that surpasses all understanding. When you rest in the peace of God you will have the confidence in Him to step out in faith and live the abundant life that He created you to live.
