Beloved, are you the head or the tail?

When one looks at most coins in the world, there is a common feature in the coin — each has a head and a tail. Each coin has two sides.

There has been an ongoing debate as to which part of a coin is the head and which part of a coin is the tail. Most coins have had an image of the head of a ruling monarch or head of state whereas the “tail” has a different image, anything from an animal, a structure, etc... We can see this in the example of the American penny with the face of Abraham Lincoln on the “head” and the Lincoln Monument shown on the “tail” part of the coin.

Jesus understood that the image on the head of a man-made coin usually represented a man appointed by the authority of this world system. I believe this is why Jesus told the disciples who were asking about whether they should be paying taxes to, “Give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and God what is God’s." Jesus made a very clear and distinct separation between the world system and the Kingdom of God. Jesus understood that He already had access to Kingdom wealth that is without limit. Jesus understood that He was not subjected to the world system and that He operated from the realm of the Kingdom of God.

They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” - Matthew 22:21 - NKJV

So they brought it. And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And Jesus answered and said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they marveled at Him. - Mark 12:16 - NKJV

Jesus understood that everything produced by the world system was owned by it. He understood His sovereignty — that He did not belong to the world system because He came from a higher Kingdom authority. Jesus was acting as a true Royal, not at all concerned with how God would provide for His needs. He was not at all concerned with the problems and the things of the world, which are temporary, because He understood that He represented the Answer to every problem. Jesus understood His role as God’s vessel for provision to the masses — provision which went far beyond monetary.

It is understood that coins are most often issued by a government. Coins often have images, numerals, or text on them. The head is called the obverse side (the face) and the tail of a coin is referred to as the reverse (the back face). The obverse of a coin is commonly called heads, because it often depicts the head of a prominent person, and the reverse, tails.

“Coin flipping”, “coin tossing”, or “heads or tails” can be defined as the practice of throwing a coin in the air and checking which side is showing when it lands, in order to choose between two alternatives, heads or tails, is sometimes used to resolve a dispute between two parties. It is a form of sortition which inherently has two possible outcomes. The party who calls the side that the coin lands on wins.

Beloved, you do not have to be stuck between two opinions when you know who you are in Me, Jesus. You do not have to be at the mercy of “chance” and “probability” derived by man. There is no in-between. There is either the kingdom of darkness or the Kingdom of God. There is no gray area. You either identify yourself with the kingdom of darkness or with the Kingdom of Light. When you know who you are in Christ, you know which side of the coin you’re on.

When you meditate on what a coin represents, it represents a ruling body, a government. When you allow yourself to be ruled by the toss of a coin, you are allowing a man-made system of government to determine, not only your identity and your worth, but your destiny. This world system was designed to gauge a person’s worth by the amount of material wealth he/she possesses. This world system teaches that the more money one has the more influence and power one has. The world system teaches that if one has no money, one has no voice. The Truth is that no government has the right nor the authority to rule over what God has already created and ordained. The government of the Kingdom of God trumps all other governments because of its Higher Authority created by God Himself.

At the Cross, when the centurions were gambling for Jesus’ robe, they were trusting in the government’s issued coins to make the determination of who would win. It is almost like the enemy was communicating to Jesus that He was helpless to do anything about His situation because the government had already tossed a coin, ruling against Him and deciding His death sentence. In his arrogance one can imagine satan laughing at Jesus, telling him that He was at the mercy of this world system because his system was more powerful and carried more weight and authority than the Kingdom of God - simply because of the mere fact that God the Father was not coming to His rescue when He needed Him the most.

It was as if the centurions were being used by the enemy to define Jesus’ end worth as they gambled for His robe, His only earthly possession left — that had been forcefully stripped from Him. No doubt the enemy was mocking Jesus’ legacy in those moments. He was using his earthly, monetary system — to downgrade and diminish His net Worth. Satan knew very well who Jesus was and he took every opportunity to oppress, to mock Him and to redefine His worth with his lies.

They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots. - Psalm 22:28 - NKJV

And when they crucified Him, they divided His garments, casting lots for them to determine what every man should take. - Mark 15:24 - NKJV

They have cast lots for My people, Have given a boy as payment for a harlot, And sold a girl for wine, that they may drink. - Joel 3:3 - NKJV

So the questions we need to ask is: “do we gauge our worth based on this world’s standard (the enemy’s) or based on what the Kingdom of God defines as the standard?”

Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations, And set up My standard for the peoples; They shall bring your sons in their arms, And your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders; - Isaiah 49:22 - NKJV

Declare among the nations, Proclaim, and set up a standard; Proclaim—do not conceal it— Say, ‘Babylon is taken, Bel is shamed. Merodach is broken in pieces; Her idols are humiliated, Her images are broken in pieces.’ - Jeremiah 50:2 - NKJV

We, as sons and daughters of the Most High God, as His royal priesthood, have been given the authority in Christ to raise up a standard against the kingdom of darkness by His Higher Authority.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; - 1 Peter 2:9 - NKJV

Beloved, we were all created to take dominion over the earth and all that is in it. As Heaven’s ambassadors we were created to rule and to reign until Christ’s return. We were created to walk, to live and to have our being by a Higher Standard, ordained by the King of the universe, as Jesus was when He was on earth.

Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” - Genesis 1:28 - NKJV

Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you set their dominion over the earth? - Job 38:33 - NKJV

If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. - John 15:19 - NKJV

And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” - Matthew 16:19 - NKJV

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. - Hebrews 11:3 - NKJV

Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. - Isaiah 9:7 - NKJV

Beloved, there are no coincidences and there is no such thing as luck. Luck is a device of the evil one to get you to think that you are powerless and subjected to his world system and under natural law. Your life is not subject to chance. You do not have to flip a coin to discover your Kingdom purpose. Remember that every decision you make, big or small is significant to God. Beloved, you have been given the creative power to determine your destiny. It all depends on which side of the coin you are choosing to align yourself with. Beloved, you have been given the power to choose, in Christ, whether you want to live as part of the Head, Jesus (under the Kingdom of God), or part of the tail (under the dominion of the enemy). You are a new creation for the divine commission and purpose to rule and to reign. You are royalty. In Christ, you are the head and not the tail because as Jesus was on earth so are you!

And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. - Deuteronomy 28:13 - NKJV

Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. - Psalm 139:16 - NKJV

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. - Romans 8:28 - NKJV

Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; - 2 Peter 1L10 - NKJV
